The BC Chinese Music Association (BCCMA) was incorporated in 1995 by enthusiastic music lovers dedicated to promote Chinese music within our multicultural community. In addition to introducing Chinese ethnic music, we also wish to promote Chinese traditional culture in our new homeland.
We are fortunate to have our Honorary President Mr. S.K. Lee , Honorary Patron Dr. Paul C.H. Wong and our Honorary Advisors –Mr. Nai Chung Kwan, Mr. Cheng Fu Liu, Mr. Ki Ling Lui, Mr. Ngon Pak Ng, Professor Alan Thrasher, Mr. Leung Tak Tong, Mr. Jin Zhang, and Mr. Cheng Long Zhou to guide and support us to achieve our goal with professional spirit.
The BC Chinese Orchestra (BCCO) has performed regularly in various cultural, festive and charitable events for the community. We have newly formed the < BC Chinese Music Ensemble > (BCCME) to introduce virtuoso and < BC Youth Chinese Orchestra > (BCYCO) to train young musicians respectively.
The association has organized lectures, master classes, instruments exhibition, seasonal and fundraiser concerts. We also co-ordinated with Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival for the Chinese Ethnic Instruments Class competition. BCCMA is a designated charitable organization and not-for-profit music society concentrating on the promotion of Chinese music culture related activities.
